Youth recreational league play begins April 30 and runs through June 18 with games played on Saturdays and occasional Sunday afternoons. Practices are scheduled during the week at the discretion of the team coach.
The program is open to boys and girls, ages 5 to 18, with separate divisions for boys and girls. Fee is $85. Players will receive a team shirt. Players are required to furnish shorts, sneakers and shin guards. The program stresses participation, development of skills, sportsmanship, and having fun with a soccer ball.
Volunteer coaches are always needed. Requirements that are more important than a knowledge of the game include: an understanding of the need for kids to stay active and have fun; the capacity to treat all players fairly, regardless of ability; a personality that can be a mature role model, despite any challenges of the game; and a man or woman who knows how to win or lose with dignity.
