The Stratford Brakettes, 30-time women's softball national champions, open their 2012 season Friday night, June 1st against the Newtown (PA) Rock. Newtown is the last team to beat the Brakettes, almost two years ago.
The Brakettes have won a team-record 119 games, dating back to the Rock's 7-3 Opening Night victory on June 4th, 2010.
The 2010 Brakettes finished 57-1, with the loss to the Rock their only blemish on the way to their first Women's Major Softball National Championship. The Brakettes previously won 28 ASA National Titles, dating back to 1958.

Stratford won their second straight WMS National Championship in 2011 and finished with a 63-0 record, the team's best record ever.
