Bunnell Boys Soccer Makes State Final

Senior striker Zach Zurita propels the Bulldogs into its second-ever state final, scoring three goals in a semifinal game against Wethersfield Saturday night.

netted three goals and the Bunnell boys soccer team beat top-seeded Wethersfield 4-2 Saturday night to advance to the Class L state final.

The fourth-seeded Bulldogs (16-2-2) will play seventh-seeded Avon (15-3-1) on either Nov. 25 or 26.

Zurita led Bunnell to its first state final in 2010, when he scored a single-season record 33 goals in the regular season. However, the Bulldogs came up short in the final game, and Zurita has seemed poised all season long to make sure there is no repeat this year.
