Accomplishments: Tadhg recently graduated among Stratford High School’s Class of 2011. He has had a very productive and rewarding high school career.

“It was good to be in it and I enjoyed the community service portion of the membership," Tadhg said of his time in the two groups.

For his community service, Tadhg was involved with freshmen orientation, where his focus was to ease the adjustment period for incoming Stratford High freshmen.

Tadhg has excelled on the sports field as well. Having played football since his freshman year, Tadhg represented Stratford High School as a linebacker and as the 2010-2011 Varsity Captain. Unfortunately, he broke his leg early in the season, but he plans to continue to play football in college.

Tadhg was awarded the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference Student-Athlete of the Year. In recognition of his achievements both academically and athletically, he attended an awards dinner at AquaTurf in Southington, Conn.

This year, Tadhg received the Fairfield County Football Coaches Association Football Scholar-Athlete of the Year Award. One student is chosen from each school to receive this award each year.

Tadhg participated in the Stratford Recreation League’s basketball “Dream Team." The teams had a lot of fun and his team won the town championships twice.

This fall, he will be attending Wabash College in Indiana on an academic scholarship. He will be pursuing a degree in history.

Key to Awesomeness: While academics have always been easy for Tadhg, football was more of a challenge. It taught him to work hard and push himself, which is a lesson he used in turn in many of the other areas of his life. In fact, he continued to improve academically as a result.

His dad has always been an inspiration to him. He arrived in America from Ireland when he was 25 years old with very little. He has been a consistent model of hard work in Tadhg’s life.

He is extremely grateful to the teachers and coaches of Stratford High School who he feels go above and beyond to help and encourage their students.
