The Scoop on Back to School

Here are some helpful resources to make sure your child gets off to a good start.

The first week of school can be a hectic time for students and parents.

The Stratford Board of Education's website offers many resources for parents to ensure their child gets off to a good start this school year.

For example, the school board provides a list of bus stops for all Stratford schools, which you will find attached to this article.

Also, did you know that, under the board's homework policy, teachers are suggested to give one hour of homework to sixth graders and two hours a night to high school students? The homework policy is also attached.

In addition, you'll find attached every school's schedule and how hours are altered in the event of a delayed opening or early dismissal. The same document lists school phone numbers.

And in the case that you might have some last minute back-to-school shopping, click here to read about a few places in town for clothes, electronics and school supplies.

If you have photos of your child/children on their first day back to school, you're invited to share them in this article by clicking 'add your photos & video' below the gallery to the right.
