Supt. Cornish Says 'We're Not Out of the Woods Yet'

Her reaction to Tuesday night's vote to not close any schools 'at this time' nor move sixth graders includes a caution that the ultimate decision rests with the Town Council and that residents need to continue to make their voices heard.

Immediately after Tuesday night's vote by Stratford's Long Range Facilities Planning Committee, a relieved Supt. of Schools Irene Cornish warned that this was not the final act in a continuing play that will continue both at the Board of Education and with the Town Council.

Supt. Cornish said that the same level of support and advocacy for the schools must be continued throughout the budgetary process.
