The program continues to be supported by Mayor John Harkins and his wife, Jody. Mayor Harkins said he is pleased at how the program has grown over the last couple of years.

As an educator, Jody Harkins said the increase in demand for the program in Stratford schools is a positive step for the town's students, parents, and the school system as a whole.

“I am looking forward to the rewarding experience of being a mentor in Stratford schools once again this year,” said Mayor Harkins. “The time spent with individual students provides both incentive and a positive example for our children.”
