At a BOE meeting in late-February, members adopted a 180-day calendar for the current school year, voting to scrap the 182-day one. The decision was made in response to school days lost during a blizzard in February and Hurricane Sandy last fall.

Lost school days due to weather also caused the cancellation this year of April break. The last day of school for students this year is currently June 26.
