On Saturday March 31st children in kindergarten - second grade are invited to the Stratford Animal Control Facility, 225 beacon Point Road in Stratford to participate in a fun filled program designed by the Humane Society of the United States and presented by the Stratford Animal Rescue Society to teach age-appropriate, standards-based academic skills and major character concepts—kindness, citizenship, fairness, respect, responsibility, and integrity—while reinforcing those ideas as they apply to our treatment of animals.
On this day children will get a tour of the Animal Control Facility and will become familiar with pets’ basic needs by listening to stories and discussing pet-care supplies and their uses.
The program is free with a donation of pet food. Participants must be pre-registered.
