As part of its ongoing commitment to improve the quality of early care and education in Stratford, Stratford Parents’ Place through their Early Childhood Institute is sponsoring a workshop called Early Literacy. This training will be held on Thursday, June 7th from 6:30-8:30pm in the Johnson House/Stratford Academy Library Media Center at 719 Birdseye Street, Stratford.
In this two-hour presentation, Laurie Noe Ed.D, Early Childhood Education Program Coordinator for Housatonic Community College, will discuss how early childhood teachers can choose and use children’s books; what books are appropriate for different age groups; strategies for reading aloud; and ways to extend literacy through a variety of learning activities and experiences.
This Early Childhood Institute is open to all Stratford early childhood professionals who either live or work in Stratford. To register for this training, please call Stratford Parents’ Place at 203-381-6992.
