HSUS Free Seminar : How to Humanely Resolve Coyote Problems

Tomorrow night in Fairfield, Connecticut, The Humane Society of the United States will lead an illuminating seminar focusing on ways to humanely resolve coyote problems. Attendees will learn how certain techniques can be used to allow coyotes, residents, and pets to peace...fully coexist.

The seminar will feature tips for protecting pets from coyotes, reducing coyote attractants in neighborhoods, and how to “haze” bold coyotes. (Coyote hazing helps restore the fear of humans back into too-tame coyotes and involves using household items such as noisemakers, penny jars, and water hoses.)

The event for the general public will be presented by Lynsey White Dasher, urban wildlife specialist for The HSUS.

Animal control officers (ACOs) in Fairfield County have experienced a rising number of panic calls about coyote sightings, making this educational program all the more timely and relevant. A separate workshop tailored for ACOs will be held earlier in the day.
