Exercise and Brain Health for Seniors

Join us as we celebrate - and challenge - our remarkable brains during Brain Awareness Week, established and coordinated by Dana Alliance for Brain Initiatives. Special programs have been planned to help you keep your cognitive fitness at its peak.

March 15th: 12:30pm: Exercise and Brain Health -  Stephanie Coffey, PT, MPH, Director of Rehabilitation Services at the Jewish Home for the Elderly, will discuss the mental benefits of exercise. She will also discuss the role a physical therapist can have in restoring and improving quality of life for older adults. Exercise tips to do on your own will be included.

March 16th: 12:00pm: Stress Management - Discover how meditation and simple stress management techniques can improve cognition and overall health. Presented by Joan Blais, Reiki Master and QiCong instructor. QiCong class will follow. Newcomers are welcome.

March 17th: 9am: Breakfast for your Brain - Registered dietician, Tina Miller, will discuss a program on the connection between nutrition and brain health. The program is sponsored by United Methodist Homes.
