Dream Team Back on Top in Hoop Play

Latest results from Sterling House high school basketball league.

The Dream Team has moved back on top of the Varsity Division in the Sterling House high school basketball league.

The Wetnets gave the Dream Team all they could handle but the division leaders pulled out a 48-45 win.  The Dream Team was led in scoring by play making guard Rick Dowling who tossed in seventeen points.  Brian Caselli paced the Wetnets with sixteen points.

The Ct Blazers and Tropics, both with one loss going into a Wednesday, February 23 head to head battle, both won. Paced by thirteen points each from David Lodice and Steve Maier the Tropics had an easy time with Riverdale winning 53-31.  Tyler Matakevich pumped in twenty points as the Ct Blazers topped the Average Bros 48-41.

In other Varsity action, the Heat stopped the Thunder 36-24.  Steve Bolden had ten tallies from the Heat.  The Thunder’s top point producer Kyle Gabris had a dozen. 

 In the Junior Varsity Division, Team Uno continued its dominance winning its ninth straight game 53-46 over the Knicks.  Alec Ward paced the winners with sixteen points. Bryan Ochoa, high scorer for the day with twenty one points, led the Knicks.

The Heat at 6-2 beat the Truth 44-35.  Caleb Vobroucek of the Heat and James Shannon of the Truth were high scorers with sixteen points each.

There will be two Varsity contests Friday, Feb 25.  The Ct Blazers meet the Dream Team at 6:15, followed at 7:15 by the Heat and Riverdale.  Both games will be played at Flood Middle School.
