Cavalcade of Bands Wednesday at Bunnell High

Bands take the field at Bunnell High School at 6:30 p.m.

After several postponements due to an October snow storm and subsequent widespread power outages, the 32rd annual Cavalcade of Bands will be held tonight, Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. at the .

As Connecticut residents continue to climb out of the dark following the freak October snow storm, not all schools originally scheduled to attend will be there, according to Linda Lang, a parent of a student on the award-winning Bunnell and Stratford Marching Band and Guard.

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students K-12 and seniors, and kids under 5 get in for free. Tickets are available at the gate.

Food will be available for purchase.

The final production of the evening will be the Bunnell and Stratford Marching Band and Guard performing their 2011 show, "Works," which features music from Emerson, Lake & Palmer.

This year's show is particularly exciting because the Stratford players will be performing in their new uniforms, made possible by a grant from an online contest called the Pepsi Refresh Challenge, as well as support from the community.

The school is located at 1 Bulldog Boulevard.
