Shakespeare Rally to restore The Soul Of Stratford

This Friday, 7-9 pm, the Save Our Shakespeare group is sponsoring a free Shakespeare Rally on the grounds of the Theatre.  Anna Bergman, international musical theatre performer, accompanied by David Little, will be singing selections from musicals adapted from Shakespeare’s plays.

Philip Langner, former owner of The Westport Playhouse, legendary theatrical producer and son of the founder of The American Shakespeare Festival Theatre, will be introduced to say a few words about the history of the Theater relating to Stratford, Connecticut and the region.

Two local actors, Fredda Takacs and Richard Warren will perform excerpts from The Taming of the Shrew, complimenting the songs that Ms. Bergman sings.

SOS group would love to have you join us in this celebration of the Theatre.  We support the state-of-the-art restoration of the Theatre to its 1,500 seat capacity and the addition of an appropriately designed and sized Shakespeare Inn on the property – making once again The American Shakespeare Festival Theatre & Inn a destination of choice for the world.  Indeed, restoring “the soul of Stratford.”
