I have to tell you of my one and only time with Murphys Paw. I had a Silky Terrier who was a fear biter, didnt like other dogs, and also couldnt be crated. Due to these issues i read that Murphys Paw can handle difficult dogs. i called them, discussed w/ them at length & they assured me that they could handle my dogs sensitive situation so i gave them a try. After waiting in their parking lot for approx 2 hours, i went inside to see if my dog was ready, & the gentlemen owner said they had tried to do the best they could, he then said that he had every one of his groomers try w/ my dog but they couldnt accomodate & not to bring her back. At that point everything else was done except the face which they said they couldnt do cuz of the muzzle. so they did nothing, i paid and left very disheartened. It disturbs me that after my phone consultation, & my assurance from the owner that they handle difficult dogs, they just simply gave up. it also bothers me that my dog was passed around to different 'strangers' and i wasnt notified right away of their not being able to handle my dog. I was sitting in their parking lot for 2 hours, not only did they know where i was, they had my cell number, they should have handled this situation more professionally. i will never use them again. it seemed to me that all they were interesed in was to get the job done and not well being of my dog. i would never recommend EVER! Murphys Paw, you have my # you can call me if you wish, facts are facts.

Dear Tricia, We welcome dogs with all types of special needs, including aggressive, fearful dogs. Most of the time, we are able to complete the groom because we are so patient & gentle. But if your dog is biting the scissors, we can't risk injuring your dog. Safety is more important. Normally, we ask for at least 3 hrs for the grooming. For an aggressive dog, we try to allow extra time for the dog to become more relaxed. You are complaining of a 2 hr wait, yet also stating that we "gave up" too early. Rushing is the worst way to approach grooming a fearful or aggressive dog. Also, it is never a good idea to stay so close (in the parking lot) while your dog is being groomed. They know you are there, and it makes it much harder for the dog to relax. Dogs sometimes react differently to different people, so it is often helpful for more than one groomer to help out. One groomer could be petting and comforting your dog, while the other attempts to saftely groom your dog...your dog was by no means "passed around to different strangers". We worked as a team to try to accomodate your special situation. We are sorry to hear that your were unhappy, but I can assure you that we did whatever was in the best interest of your dog. We are a bit taken aback, that after trying to accomodate your special needs, you have written a negative review, rather than appreciating our efforts. Please let us know how we could have better handled this situation. Thanks, Murphy's Paw

murphy"s paw. We have 2 German Shepard's, one who doesn't get along with strange dogs and the other who weighs over 100 pounds and has bad legs. They have always been excellent with both dogs and we have been going there for over 4 years.
