Gearing Up for a Great Fall Festival this Weekend

Things are lining up for a great Fall Festival. There will be fun to be had for all. The best part is that all proceeds from this event benefits homeless animals.

If you were to stop down to the Animal Control Facility this past weekend one might note it looks like Santa's elves getting ready for Christmas as staff and volunteers are busy preparing for the annual Fall Festival to Benefit Animals.

Getting ready for our 6th annual festival is a yearlong endeavor orchestrated by dedicated and caring individuals who are committed to making the festival bigger and better at every turn.

All proceeds from the festival directly benefit the Stratford Animal Control Facility and helps to facilitate and expedite the adoptions of homeless animals by providing food, medical care and other daily needs.

Our event will be hosted by the multi-talented "Mistress of Ceremonies" radio personality Pam Landry and this year we are pleased to provide something for everyone. Whether you have pets or not you are sure to find a treasure by visiting one of the over 85+ vendors that will be selling their wares. There will be all types of food, music and entertainment as well. Did I mention the free ice cream and hot chocolate for attendees all day long?

In addition, you can view pets available for adoption on the mobile adoption unit, get your pets microchipped at the low cost clinic, participate in the free contests and enjoy the canine "Try-It" demos. There will be a lecture on wolves given by award-winning photographer and author Scott Ian Barry, and a Dog Walk for one mile led by "Pet Talk" host Lauren Collier on Main Street. It's quite a site to see over a hundred dogs on parade.

You don't want to miss this one folks! The festival will be held on Oct. 8, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Paradise Green on the corner of Huntington Road and Main Street.
