Background: Town officials plan to appeal to the state Appellate Court a ruling that ordered to reinstate police officer Justin LoSchiavo, who was fired after allegedly violating police department policy two years ago.

Harkins said in a statement that when LoSchiavo failed to tell a town-appointed doctor of his history of seizures after he got into a car accident when he suffered one while on police duty, that was means for permanent dismissal.

Background: In a profile piece on his new Stationhouse Square restaurant, Marrazzo said his Main Street eatery promises to deliver authentic Italian food at a price affordable to Stratford families.

Marrazzo said all of his restaurant’s ingredients come from the Bronx and are made with the same stuff they were made of some 100 years ago. “Everything’s authentic,” he said.

Background: It was announced this week that the town of Stratford was awarded a $250,000 grant to continue planning the redevelopment of Stratford Center. The grant came from the state Department of Transportation, and legislators said it will go toward figuring out a plan to relieve traffic congestion in the area that will go hand in hand with a new center.
