Polls Open For Special Election in Stratford Today

Election is to fill remaining term of Larry Miller, who died May 31, as state representative for 122nd District.

Polls will be open until 8 p.m. tonight (July 22) for a special election to fill the seat and unexpired term of Larry Miller, the state representative of the 122nd District, who died May 31.

The 122nd District covers parts of Stratford, Shelton and Trumbull.

Stratford Registrars of Voters Lou Decilio told the Connecticut Post that the special election is dictated by state law and that if "Mr. Miller had lived until July, there wouldn't have been any need for a special election. It's entirely possible that the winner won't ever get to vote on the floor of the Legislature if he or she loses in November."
