Tonight: Public Meeting on Proposed Keating Ford Development

A 130-unit townhouse-style development may someday occupy the former Keating Ford property at 1055 Stratford Ave.

But before that happens the town and developers want to know what residents think of the proposal for the vacant lot that borders the .

A community meeting on the planned development will be held on Nov. 17, from 7 to 9 p.m., in the cafeteria at the .

The design includes on-site parking and the apartments would be part of the large-scale . Keating closed in 2007 after 85 years in business.

The would-be developer is a company called Forest City, whose vice president will be at the Nov. 17 meeting. Also attending will be Nick Owens of Sultan Realty Management. Councilwoman Stephanie Philips and Councilman Matt Catalano will host the open meeting.

Comments from the informal meeting will go toward a formal application that the developers will submit to the town's zoning commission.
