Connor to Seek Re-Election in the 8th District

This is a press release.

Stratford Town Council Majority Leader Jim Connor announced this week that he will be seeking a third term representing the 8th District.

Stratford Republicans will be holding their convention on July 18 to nominate candidates for the November election, including members of the Town Council.

“Over the last four years, our town has braved some stiff challenges, from major storms to a weak national economy," Connor said. "I am dedicated to bringing to town government exactly what my constituents expect in times like this – experienced leadership committed to working with everyone to move our town forward in the most efficient way possible."

“I am proud of several very important accomplishments this term," he said. "They include fostering a sense of civility between elected officials of both parties, leading the pension board for three years and putting our pension fund on solid ground.

"This will benefit our retirees and Stratford taxpayers for years to come. The resolution of the longstanding Sikorsky Airport issues and improving accountability are also significant highlights.

“In a third term, I plan to continue my efforts to keep our government civil, efficient, and accountable, support the successful redevelopment of the Army Engine Plant, and maintain and enhance our town’s assets including Boothe Memorial Park."

Councilman Jim Connor is a 20-year veteran of the United States Air Force and is employed as the Director of Human Resources at Bridgeport Fittings, Inc.
