Two Stratford Stores Cited for Alcohol Sales to Minor

Stratford Police teamed up with the Department of Consumer Protection in the compliance check.

Two Stratford establishments were charged over the past weekend with selling alcohol to a minor after failing a routine compliance check, Department of Consumer Protection Commissioner William M. Rubenstein said today.

On the afternoon of Friday, May 27, beginning at 4 p.m., agents from the Department of Consumer Protection Liquor Control Division and the members of the Stratford Police Department partnered to conduct compliance checks at package stores and grocery stores that sell beer in town.

Two volunteer youths, age 17 and 18, were provided by the Governor's Prevention Partnership to assist in the compliance checks.
