Stratford Police Net Two in Narcotics Bust

Police say the two men were involved in drug dealing and had illegal firearms in the home.

Police investigating an alleged drug dealer arrested two Stratford men at their Clover Street apartment, where they were allegedly in possession of narcotics and firearms, in a raid earlier this month.

According to reports, police received a tip that Jose "Che" Hernandez, 28, was selling narcotics. They also reportedly learned Hernandez, a convicted felon, had at least two guns in the home.

On Aug. 16, police from the Narcotics Vice and Intelligence Unit, the Detective Bureau and members of the police's ESU team raided the home on a warrant.

During the raid, police say they found a .40 calbier Smith & Wesson and a .380 caliber Lorcin handgun, as well as paraphernalia for processing and packaging narcotics.

They arrested Hernandez and another man -- Jose Jimenez, 20. Hernandez was charged with criminal possession of a firearm, first-degree threatening and possession of drug paraphernalia. Jimenez was charged with possession of narcotics with intent to sell and interfering with an officer.

Reports are based on information provided by the Stratford Police Department. Arrests do not indicate guilt.
