A month-long investigation into narcotics sales in Stratford ended Friday when teamed up with Bridgeport officers and arrested a 29-year-old city man on various charges.
A search warrant on the Bridgeport residence of Manolo Ortiz-Granell reportedly found the following: three firearms and several rounds of ammunition; $16,078 in US dollars; 105.5 grams of suspected powder cocaine, 45.2 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 1.5 grams of suspected marijuana; 20 OxyContin pills; and suspected packaging materials.
A 2004 Chrysler Pacifica SUV and a 2004 Yamaha jet ski were also seized during the search of Ortiz-Granell's Beechwood Avenue apartment, police said.
The 29-year-old faces the following charges:
- Risk of injury (2 counts)
- Possession of drug paraphernalia in a drug factory
- Possession with intent to sell narcotics
- Possession of under four ounces of marijuana
- Failure to keep narcotics in original container
- Criminal possession of a firearm
- Fugitive from justice
Prior to his arrest, Ortiz-Granell had an outstanding warrant out of New York for narcotics charges. He was held on $500,000 bond and is due in court June 13.
