Suspect Crashes Car Into Stratford Home

Ansonia man allegedly led cops on a pursuit that began in Bridgeport.

A pursuit that began in Bridgeport ended in Stratford on Sept. 21 when the driver on the run from the cops crashed his car into a home on Mill Pond Lane, police said.

After colliding with the house, the driver, Demarcus Murphy, attempted to flee on foot but was quickly apprehended by officers, police said.

The 21-year-old Ansonia man, who police said had his wife and stepchild in the car, was charged with first-degree reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, engaging officers in a pursuit, among other charges.

Bridgeport police initially attempted to pull Murphy over because the car he was driving had stolen license plates, police said.
