Stratford Teen Charged for Using Car w/o Permission

Arrest information provided by the Milford Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

An 18-year-old Stratford man was arrested Thursday for allegedly driving an acquaintance's car without her permission and crashing it into a guardrail then leaving the scene -- all without a driver's license, police said.

Isreal Martins of Nichols Avenue collided the car into a guardrail on West River Road in Milford on Aug. 17, according to that city's police department.

Milford police charged Martins Thursday with using a motor vehicle without permission, evading responsibility, failure to drive right and operating without a license.

He was released on a promise to appear for a court date on Sept. 25.
