Stratford Police Take Down Suspected Cocaine Dealer

Police seize more than 700 grams of cocaine and in excess of 100 grams of marijuana in a drug raid in Stratford and Bridgeport.

An alleged drug dealer who police say was pushing large amounts of crack cocaine into Stratford and Bridgeport has been arrested and more than 700 grams of the narcotic was seized.

The arrest, announced Aug. 6 via a press release from the Stratford Police Department, comes after a lengthy investigation by members of the town's Narcotics Vice and Intelligence Unit.

Police say their investigation, which began in May, revealed that Tyrelle Noblin Sr., 29, and his uncle, Charles Foster, 44, were responsible for distributing large amounts of crack cocaine within the Town of Stratford and City of Bridgeport.

On July 12, detectives from Stratford's Narcotics Vice and Intelligence Unit, with assistance from Bridgeport Police Tactical Narcotics Units and Stratford patrol units, executed three search warrants at the following locations:

  • 353 Columbus Ave., Stratford
  • 278 Newfield Ave., Bridgeport
  • 80 Granfield Ave., Apt. B5, Bridgeport

Noblin reportedly tried flee on foot when detectives attempted to arrest him, but he was captured a short distance away, police said.

At Granfield Avenue, detectives reportedly located 639.2 grams of crack cocaine, 107 grams of marijuana and 83.3 grams of powder cocaine, along with several items used for the cutting, processing and packaging of narcotics.

Detectives also seized a 2006 Mercedes Benz CLS 500 and several thousand dollars believed to be proceeds from the sale of the drugs, according to the report.

Noblin was charged with:

  • Operating a drug factory
  • Possession of narcotics with the intent to sell
  • Possession with the intent to sell more than one-half ounce of cocaine
  • Possession of marijuana with the intent to sell
  • Sale of narcotics within 1.500 feet of a school
  • Interfering with an officer

Noblin's bond was set at $100,000 and he was scheduled to appear in court on July 26.

Noblin's uncle, Foster, was charged with conspiracy to sell narcotics. His bond was set at $50,000 and he was due in court on July 26.

In addition, Noblin's girlfriend, Chastity Rickets, 28, was also arrested. She was charged with interfering with an officer and was released on a promise to appear in court on July 26.
