Stratford Police Lieutenant Suspended for Alleged Stolen Car Cover Up

Detective William Jennings was pulled over by Officer Joseph LoSchiavo Jr. on Bruce Avenue in October 2008, when the Lexus Jennings was driving came back as stolen from out of Fairfield, according to a Connecticut Post report.

Lt. Gerald Pinto, head of the 's Special Services Division, has reportedly been suspended without pay for 30 days for allegedly trying to cover up that another officer was driving around in a stolen vehicle.

According to a report in the Connecticut Post, Detective William Jennings was pulled over by on Bruce Avenue in October 2008, when the Lexus Jennings was driving came back as stolen from out of Fairfield.

Pinto, Jennings' supervisor at the time, subsequently contacted Fairfield police in an effort to get them to withdraw the computer entry that the car was stolen, according to the report.
