Stratford Police Blotter: March 4 - 7

Enforcement actions taken by the Stratford police department.

On March 4, Stratford police went to Bridgeport Hospital in an attempt to apprehend Travis Kollock, 30, of Woodend Road, who had an active warrant out for charges dating back to June 2010 that included third degree burglary, larceny and forgery. Upon arrival at the hospital, police were told that Kollock was discharged. Officers checked the immediate area of the hospital and were successful in locating Kollock and they transported him back to headquarters where he was charged and held in $10,000 bond pending a March 16 court date.

On March 7, police were dispatched to Wells Place on a report of suspicious activity. Upon arrival, officers found Gesner Gomez, 25, of Bridgeport and ran a check and found him to be wanted on an extradictable warrant out of Cumberland County, PA. Dispatch contacted authorities there and they confirmed the warrant. Gomez was taken to Stratford headquarters where he was charged with being a fugitive from justice and placed in $250,000 bond while awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania.

On March 7, police were dispatched to Otis Street on a report of a motor vehicle theft. Upon arrival, police spoke with the complainant who reported that his 2008 Carry trailer was stolen from his lot on Otis Street. The victim rents a three-car garage here and the trailer was parked outside on the south side of the garage, police reported. The victim said the last time he saw the vehicle was on March 4 and that the perpetrators cut the chain holding the tires together. Police observed the damaged chain. The vehicle was entered by police into the reporting system as a stolen vehicle and the investigation is ongoing.
