Stratford Police Beefing Up DUI Patrol During Holiday Season

Sobriety checkpoints scheduled for Nov. 30 and Dec. 29.

The following is a release from the Stratford Police Department.

The Stratford Police Department is announcing it will be increasing patrol activities directed specifically toward DUI enforcement and conducting roadside sobriety checkpoints for impaired driving during this holiday season.

This will begin on Nov. 21 and will continue into the New Year. The sobriety checkpoints are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 30, 2012 and Saturday Dec. 29, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m.

The Stratford Police Department is participating in the 2012/13 Comprehensive DUI Enforcement program. This program enables us to conduct increased patrols and roadside sobriety checkpoints, in an effort to reduce the number of impaired driving injuries and fatalities through increased high-visibility DUI enforcement.

Please don't drink and drive.
