Stratford Pastor Charged with Stealing from Church Member

Robert Genevicz — pastor of the Stratford Baptist Church — turned himself into Stratford Police Tuesday, and was charged with first-degree larceny.

The pastor of the Stratford Baptist Church was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stealing more than $170,000 over a period of time, according to a Hartford Courant report.

Robert Genevicz, 67, was arrested March 18 and charged with first-degree larceny.

The Stratford Star reports that the police investigation into Genevicz's activities began following a tip from a parishioner.

A warrant was issued for the pastor's arrest and he turned himself into police on Tuesday.

Genevicz was released on bail. And he is scheduled to appear in court next on March 31.
