Stratford Man Nabbed for Heroin w/ Kid in Tow

Lawrence Pellegrino is charged with possession of heroin, among other charges.

A 28-year-old Stratford man last week was arrested on heroin charges after a motor vehicle stop in the area of Woodend Road and Gregory Circle.

Lawrence Pellegrino faces charges of possession of heroin, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a housing project and risk of injury to a minor (his 4-year-old daughter was in the car, police said).

Police said they conducted a stop on Pellegrino's vehicle after he failed to signal when turning. Investigators were already in the area for drug activity surveillance. 

Drug paraphernalia and packaging were in plain sight in the rear seat of the vehicle, police said. Several packages of heroin were later found to be in Pellegrino's possession.

The arrest happened Thursday, April 4 at about 6 p.m.

Pellegrino was held in lieu of $5,000 bond and is due in Bridgeport Superior Court April 11.
