Stratford Man Gets 6 Years for Burglary Spree

Douglas Fast reportedly had 32 cases pending against him and stole over $200,000 worth of goods.

A 48-year-old Stratford man was recently convicted for burglaries in 10 area towns -- including his own -- and sentenced to 6 years in prison, according to the Valley Independent Sentinel.

Douglas Fast of Everett Street was originally taken into custody by Seymour police in 2011 after he led them on a car chase through that town. Audio of that pursuit can be heard by clicking the play button on the YouTube video in the photo gallery.

According to the Valley Indy, Fast had 32 cases pending against him in the following 10 area towns: Stratford, Seymour, Shelton, Milford, Monroe, Naugatuck, Westport, Orange, Trumbull, and Fairfield.

The New Haven Register reported that Fast was sentenced for stealing about $224,000 worth of jewelry and other goods during the lengthy burglary spree.
