Stratford K-9 Unit Tracks Down Suspect in Milford

The following arrest information was supplied by the Milford Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Milford police say a Bridgeport man led them on a car and foot chase in the early morning hours of Feb. 8 after a routine motor vehicle stop.

Police said the driver, who they identified as Najee Robertson, 23, was pulled over near the intersection of Boston Post Road and Cherry Street at 3:39 a.m. As the officer approached the vehicle, Robertson reportedly sped off in the opposite direction. Police chased the vehicle down and located it crashed into a fence up the street.

Robertson fled on foot, police said, but was located in a Home Acres Avenue yard with the assistance of a Stratford police K-9 unit that was called to the scene. The K-9 unit was Officer Bob Joy and canine Roscoe (they are the middle pairing in the attached photo).

After being taken into custody, police learned that Connecticut State Police had an active warrant for Robertson's arrest for escape from custody, according to the report.

He was charged with interfering with police, failure to obey an officer's signal, evading responsibility, failure to have stoplights and failure to illuminate headlamps. Robertson was turned over to state police and released on a promise to appear in court Feb. 28.

While investigating the incident, police identified the registered owner of the vehicle Robertson was driving. That person, Tiffany Osorio, 21, of Stratford, was arrested too, after police learned there was an active warrant for her arrest, in relation to motor vehicle charges.

Osorio was charged with second-degree failure to appear. Her bond was set at $750 and she is scheduled to appear in court Feb. 28.
