Stratford Hit-and-Run Suspect Surrenders to Police

Stratford woman faces at least a felony evading charge.

The driver suspected in a Tuesday has surrendered to police.

Courtney Holifield, 35, of Stratford was charged with felony evading after police said she struck a motorcyclist traveling east on Barnum Avenue while she was going west, then fled the area.

Police said the driver of the motorcycle, 25-year-old David Weiler of Bridgeport, is in critical but stable condition at Bridgeport Hospital, a hospital spokesperson told Stratford police.

The accident happened near California Street.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
