A 28-year-old Bridgeport man was recently arrested on heroin charges after police said he was involved in a drug deal at a local gas station.

Police conducting narcotics surveillance in the area of Stratford Avenue and Beardsley Street said they spotted a suspicious car parked in a nearby gas station with the occupant, Ross Kohan, neither pumping gas or going into the store.

A male approached Kohan's vehicle, police said, and a hand-to-hand transaction followed.

Police said they pulled Kohan over after he exited the gas station and in plain view were paper folds containing suspected heroin and a syringe. The suspected heroin would later test positive for a weight of .6 grams, police said.

At headquarters, Kohan allegedly admitted that he came to Stratford to purchase heroin for a local drug dealer and bought five folds at the gas station.
