Stratford firefighters responding to a call at 324 Columbus Ave. Thursday afternoon were able to limit the damage and prevent any injuries.
According to a 1:30 p.m. post on the fire department's Facebook page, the fire was found in the basement of the residence and contained there by firefighters.
Columbus Avenue connects with Honeyspot Road to the west and Woodend Road to the east.
