Seatbelt Checkpoints to Start in Stratford May 21
Be prepared to be handed a citation if you don't buckle up.
Driving around town starting May 21 you may notice some stationary police checkpoints popping up here and there.
As Memorial Day nears, the will begin a campaign focused on seatbelt safety. If you choose not to click it, you will get a ticket.
According to figures released by the police department, 13 to 15-year-old passengers have the highest percentage (67 percent) of all age groups to be fatally injured and unrestrained in traffic crashes.

Among adult passengers 18 to 34 years old who were killed in car crashes, 63 percent were not wearing a seatbelt, according to the department.
