Protective Order Violation; Underage Drinker Charged with Threatening; Cocaine Charges

The following arrest information was supplied by the Stratford Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Police Charge Suspect With Violating Protective Order

Stratford Police arrested a Bridgeport man last week when officers discovered him driving around with a woman who had a protective order against him.

According to police reports, at 12:44 a.m. on July 8, an officer observed a 1990 Chrysler leave the parking lot of the Honeyspot Motel and proceed erratically down Honeyspot Road. When the officer stopped the vehicle, the driver, Angel Reyes, 30, of 38 Roosevelt St., Bridgeport, appeared to be under the influence of drugs and acted suspiciously and uncooperatively, the police report said.

The assistance of several other officers was required to handcuff Reyes. A computer check revealed that Reyes’ female passenger had a “no contact” protective order against him, and that he had a record of numerous narcotics arrests, interfering with police officers charges and protective order violations.

The report said officers found a small amount of marijuana in his possession. During the arrest he allegedly made numerous vague threats against the arresting officer and remained uncooperative.

Reyes was taken to Bridgeport Hospital for evaluation, then to the Stratford police station for booking on charges of violating a protective order, interfering with an officer, failure to carry a driver’s license and failure to drive right.

Police said he was held on $1,000 bond for an appearance in court on July 8 before a family violence magistrate.

Underage Patron Accused of Threatening Bartender

An underage patron at the Windmill Restaurant, 400 Hollister St., was arrested by Stratford Police after he allegedly threatened bar employees when they refused to serve him alcohol.

Police were called to the Windmill at 6:46 p.m. on July 7 after the owner reported a patron was threatening two female employees.

Robert Eleazer III, 20, of 151 Meadowlark Road, Naugatuck, turned himself in at the Naugatuck Police Department, where Stratford police officers took him into custody for booking in Stratford. Employees at the restaurant said they saw Eleazer’s father sneaking him drinks, a police report said. When they ordered him to leave they said he threatened to return and shoot the women.

Eleazer was charged with threatening in the second degree and breach of peace. He was held on $500 bond and scheduled for a court appearance on July 21.

Stratford Man Held On Cocaine Charges

A Stratford resident was arrested after police stopped him speeding through town streets with crack cocaine in his car.

David Yorwerth, 45, of 405 Barnum Terrace Extension, was observed by a police officer running a stop light and illegally passing another car on Franklin Avenue at 9:53 p.m. on July 9. He was pulled over and the officer discovered a bag containing suspected crack cocaine and a crack smoking pipe in his car.

Yorwerth was charged with reckless driving, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cocaine. He was held on $500 bond for a court appearance on July 20.
