Police to Conduct Sobriety Checkpoints Tonight
The DUI checkpoints will be in effect from 7 p.m. tonight to 3 a.m. Saturday.
The Stratford Police Department Traffic Division announced that officers would conduct roadside sobriety checkpoints in Stratford between 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and 3 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 10.
Police Lt. Paul DosSantos said the sobriety checkpoints are part of the 2011 Comprehensive DUI Enforcement program, designed to reduce the number of impaired driving injuries and fatalities though high-visibility DUI enforcement.
