Police: Man Forged Prescription Drug Script; Woman Charged with Larceny

Man Hit with Prescription Drug Charges
Police arrested a Stratford resident on June 7 when he reportedly attempted to fill a fraudulent prescription for Roxicodone, a narcotic painkiller, at a local pharmacy.
Officers responded to Walgreen’s at 1606 Barnum Ave., where the pharmacist reportedly told police a customer was trying to fill a fake prescription. The pharmacist said he recognized that the doctor’s signature on the prescription was a forgery, police said.

Phillip Cunningham, 62, of Stratford, was charged with illegally obtaining prescription drugs. He was released on a promise to appear in court June 17.
Woman Arrested on Larceny Charges

Police arrested a 48-year-old woman on June 8 after store security personnel at ShopRite, 250 Barnum Ave. Cut-Off, reportedly observed her leave the store without paying for numerous items.
Police said Sushila Gaur, of 1300 Massachusetts Ave. NW in Washington, D.C., was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on $500 bond for a court appearance on June 16.
She reportedly took cosmetics, personal care items and vitamins with a total value of $83.89.
