Police Make Arrests for Larceny, Outstanding Warrants

Stamford Man Faces Larceny Charges

Police responded to Stop & Shop on East Main Street at 5:50 p.m. on June 15 after store security personnel reported that a man was filling a backpack with merchandise.

Officers found that David Bibb, 42, of 26 Main St., Stamford, had reportedly put disposal cameras and home and beauty merchandise in his backpack. The merchandise in the backpack was valued at $229.13. Bibb also had items in a shopping cart, police said.

Bibb was charged with sixth-degree larceny and released on a promise to appear in court on June 24.

Motor Vehicle Stop Leads to Arrest

Gerald Mack, 51, of 1245 Cutspring Road, Stratford, was arrested and turned over to Orange police on June 16 for an outstanding warrant for third-degree larceny, police reported.

Mack was arrested following a routine motor vehicle check, which indicated there was a warrant for his arrest, according to police. An officer stopped him while driving on Main Street in Stratford center. He was released on a $10,000 bond.

Couple Taken into Custody on Arrest Warrants

Stratford police reported they arrested a Stratford couple on a number of arrest warrants charging them with failure to appear and failure to respond.

Police said Allan Urban, 34, and Marta Urban, 31, both of 481 Freeman Ave., were held at police headquarters when they could not make bail.

The couple was arrested in Wooster Park on June 16. Police also warned them that being in a town park between sunset and sunrise is a trespassing violation.
