Police ID Body Pulled From Housatonic As Elderly Male

A body pulled from the waters of the Housatonic River Friday was that of an 80-year-old white male, Stratford police just announced.

The man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, Stratford police Lieutenant Frank Eannotti said in a statement.

After being recovered from the river, the man was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Eannotti said.

“At this time there does not appear to be any foul play and the incident may be accidental,” he said.

The investigation is ongoing.
