The following message has been posted on the Stratford Board of Education's website.

In response to the recent tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, Stratford Public Schools are taking the following precautions:

  • Principals/Staff continue to monitor closely all school entrances and exits.
  • Staff members continue to monitor hallways and the interior of the buildings.
  • Patrols around the perimeters of our buildings have increased.

The police are providing additional presence around the schools. As the children hear about the tragedy, our school social workers and psychologists will be prepared to talk with children exhibiting signs of distress. Of course our thoughts and prayers are with the Newtown community.
