NY Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Stratford Stabbing

Stratford police said Abraham Machuca stabbed another New York man several times.

The only suspect in a stabbing Monday has been identified by police as a 21-year-old New York City resident.

Abraham Machuca faces charges including criminal attempt at murder after police said he at 145 Holmes Street shortly before noon Monday.

The 19-year-old male victim, also from New York City, suffered non-life threatening injuries and has since been released from Bridgeport Hospital, police said. An 18-year-old female resident of the house was also at the crime scene but was unharmed, police said.

Police said it appears that Machuca is an ex-boyfriend of the female.

Machuca, who police said fled on foot after the stabbing, was treated at Bridgeport Hospital for minor hand injuries before he was transported to the and charged with the following:

  • Home Invasion
  • First-degree burglary
  • Third-degree assault
  • Second-degree threatening

Machuca was held on $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 5.
