Firemen Quickly Douse Stonybrook Road Structure Fire

Monday evening fire damages room and contents.

At about 8 p.m. Monday evening Stratford fire and EMS were dispatched to 371 Stoneybrook Road on a report of a structural house fire. 

Stratford police were first on the scene and flames were seen coming out of the structure.

Car 3 then arrived at 8:02 p.m. and reported a one-story wood duplex with fire showing. Engine 3 arrived immediately thereafter at 8:02, followed by Engine 5 at 8:03, Engine 2 at 8:04 and Ladder 1.

Hose was set and the hydrant charged and firefighters quickly had the main blaze under control by 8:08 p.m. Ceilings were pulled and the roof opened to help vent and gain access.

Damage was reported to one room and contents, with the fire marshal, safety officer and building inspector called to the scene. Officials said the residents evacuated themselves safely prior to the arrival of emergency personnel.
