Fairfield Police Burst Stratford Man's Bubble

The following arrest information was supplied by the Fairfield Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Fairfield police arrested a man Wednesday after he allegedly stole $154 worth of gum from on Villa Avenue, according to a police report.

Kenneth McManus, 24, told police he was homeless and needed a way to make money to pay for a place to stay, police said. He reportedly hid the gum in a backpack, which was covered by a jacket in a shopping cart, police said.

His last known address was in Stratford, the report said. McManus was released on a promise to appear in court Dec. 14.
