Stratford Man Dies in Huntington Road Crash

Police say 32-year-old Kevin Oakley has died after crashing into a parked car Friday night.

A 32-year-old Stratford man has died from injuries sustained in a car accident on Huntington Road Friday night.

Kevin Oakley crashed into an unoccupied parked car at about 9 p.m. Friday and was transported to Bridgeport Hospital where he later succumbed to injuries sustained in the collision, according to police.

While the crash is still under investigation, police said preliminary findings support that "the vehicle was traveling northbound on Huntington Road [in the area near Sharon Road] and veered left crossing the double yellow lines crashing into a parked and unoccupied vehicle in the southbound lane."

Oakley was the sole occupant of the vehicle, police said.

At least one person suffered serious injuries and had to be extricated from a vehicle that was involved in a crash on Huntington Road Friday night, according to the Stratford Fire Department and radio transmissions.

The call for a motor vehicle accident in the area of 957 Huntington Road came in at about 9 p.m. Friday, according to a post on the Stratford Fire Department's Facebook page.

The person who called the department said a car was smoking and a person was trapped inside, according to the post.

According to radio transmissions, the car struck a parked car on Huntington Road, and along with the extricated patient, another person was transported to the hospital.
