Despite Denial, Man Arrested for Allegedly Assaulting Girlfriend

Argument takes place in parked car on South Avenue.

On March 26, a woman came to headquarters and told police that she was assaulted by her boyfriend. The woman stated that she was our with her boyfriend and were parked in front of her house on South Avenue when became involved in an argument.

She told police that her boyfriend grabbed her by the hair and then tried to hit her but she was able to move and then he scratched her on her chest.

The woman then said her boyfriend got out of the car and began to walk home and told police that this was an ongoing situation and that she wanted him arrested.

Police observed an injury on the complainant, which appeared to be fresh, they wrote in their report. The woman refused medical attention but gave a voluntary statement to police.

Police then went to the man’s home and located Sean Davis, 28, of Willard Street. Davis confirmed that he was out with the alleged victim and that she was dropping him off at his home.

The argument started, he said, because a female was calling him on his cell phone. Davis said he did not accost his girlfriend and left the car and went into his house.

Police said that due to the physical marks on the woman Davis was arrested and charged with third degree assault. Bond was $1,000 pending a court hearing.
