Crack Cocaine Deal Tips Stratford Cops

Leads to the arrests of three men.

On Oct. 2, members of the Stratford Police Department Narcotics Vice and Intelligence Unit made three arrests following an investigation into alleged narcotics activity.

The investigation was conducted over a two-month period starting in August.

During the incident officers were able to observe the subject of the investigation, Jermaine Middleton, 34, of Bridgeport make a sale of crack cocaine in the parking lot of the C-Town Plaza located on Boston Avenue in Stratford.

The undercover officer at the scene immediately took Middleton into custody for the transaction.

The vehicle that delivered Middleton to the transaction and its two occupants were stopped by other investigators working the case. The occupants were identified as Wilbert Mcculough, 50, (address unknown) and Dennis Waiters, 43, of Stratford.

Mcculough and Waiters were also found to be in possession of cocaine. They were subsequently taken into custody by officers.

Middleton was charged with sales of narcotics and sales of narcotics within 1500 feet of a prohibited place. He is scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 9.

Waiters and Mcculough were charged with possession of cocaine. Both posted bond and are scheduled to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on Oct. 10.
